The official WhatsApp Web in a privacy-first app that blurs what is on your screen.
What it does
Veil runs the official WhatsApp Web inside a calm, privacy-first app. Names, previews, photos and media are blurred on your screen until you choose to reveal them, so a glance over your shoulder shows nothing.
It never touches WhatsApp's protocol and does not modify WhatsApp. It only styles and covers what is drawn on your own screen. You sign in the normal way, as with any linked device.
The chat list, photos, media and statuses are blurred. The conversation you have open stays readable.
Hover on a chat to read it on the Mac, or tap it on Android. A short delay means passing over a chat never flashes it.
Notifications show the sender's name only, never the message. On Android the lock screen shows just “New message”.
Cover the whole window in one keystroke. A minimised window shows a blank card, and on Android everything blurs the moment you leave Veil.
Veil runs the real WhatsApp Web, so it does not carry the ban risk of modified clients. Tricks like hiding blue ticks are deliberately left out.
Drag-and-drop and paste uploads, voice messages and spell check on the Mac. A phone layout, background connection and a Downloads/Veil folder on Android.

FAQ
No. Veil runs the official WhatsApp Web (web.whatsapp.com) inside its own window. It never touches WhatsApp's protocol and only styles what is drawn on your screen, so it does not carry the ban risk that modified clients do.
No. Veil connects only to web.whatsapp.com. It has no analytics, no update checks and no third-party code, and nothing is sent to KHBROS. Your login and cache stay in the app's own storage on your device.
No. Veil is a linked device, and WhatsApp only lets a phone running the official app register a number. WhatsApp also signs linked devices out if the main phone's app is not opened for about 14 days, so keep WhatsApp installed.
On the WhatsApp page inside Veil, tap Log in with phone number and enter your number. In the WhatsApp app go to Settings › Linked devices › Link a device › Link with phone number instead and type the 8-character code Veil shows. On a Mac, scan the QR code once.
Those tricks need tampering with WhatsApp's internals, which breaks with every update and puts accounts at risk of a ban, so Veil does not do them. Use WhatsApp's own Settings › Privacy for read receipts and last seen.
Yes. BASIC is free to download and use, with no time limit, no ads and no account. ADVANCED will be the paid edition when sales open.
Yes. They are separate apps with their own settings, so installing, using or removing one never touches the other.
