What it does

Eye in a minute

Eye is a game for anyone who works with layout, type and colour. Each day brings seven short rounds, the same for everyone: drop a piece in the exact centre of a shape, find the middle of a line, space a row evenly, kern a word, mix a colour, spot the odd tile out and match a Bézier curve. Every answer is measured against the perfect one and scored from 0 to 100.

It is our thank-you gift to the people who use KHBROS apps: the whole game, free, with every feature, no account and no ads. It works offline and sends nothing anywhere. Practise any round as often as you like, or play against the clock.

Guide: Train your eye for kerning, spacing and colour

  • Seven rounds a day

Centre, Bisect, Spacing, Kern, Colour, Spot and Bézier, dealt fresh each day and the same for everyone, on Mac, Windows and Android.

  • Scored to the point

Each answer is measured in points on the board, or in ΔE colour difference, and scored from 0 to 100, so you see exactly how close you came.

  • Real design skills

Kern a word the way its typeface designer did, mix a colour to within ΔE 2, and pull pen-tool handles until your curve fits.

  • Learn as you play

The first time you meet a round, an animated how-to plays it for you. After that it stays out of the way.

  • Practise and race

Practise any round on its own or a random mix, keep a daily streak, and switch on a countdown when you want the pressure.

  • Private and offline

No account, no ads, no tracking. The game and your scores stay on your computer or phone.

FAQ

Questions, answered

Is Eye really free?

Yes. Eye is a gift from KHBROS: every round and every feature, with no account, no ads and no time limit.

Is the daily set the same on Mac, Windows and Android?

Yes. Each day's Centre, Bisect, Spacing, Colour, Spot and Bézier rounds are dealt exactly the same on every Mac, Windows PC and Android phone, so you can compare scores with friends. Kern uses each device's own fonts, so its word can differ.

How is it scored?

Every answer is measured against the perfect one, in points on the board or in ΔE for colour, and turned into a score from 0 to 100. Spot counts how many odd tiles you find.

Does Eye need the internet?

No. It works offline and sends nothing anywhere. Your scores are kept on your device.

Which computers and phones does it run on?

Macs with macOS 14 Sonoma or later, Apple silicon or Intel; Windows 10 and 11 PCs (64-bit); and Android phones and tablets with Android 8.0 or later.

Can I zoom in on Android?

Yes. Pinch with two fingers to zoom into a board and drag with two fingers to move around it. One finger always plays.
