What it does

Screen Veil in a minute

One click on a small floating button blurs whatever is on your screens, all of them, with the menu bar and Dock included. Click again and they are back. On your phone, one tap blurs the screen in any app.

There is no account, no ads and no tracking, and nothing on your screen is ever recorded or saved. On the Mac you can keep clicking, scrolling and typing in the app underneath while it is blurred.

  • Every screen at once

A floating button on each screen, a menu-bar icon and a shortcut (Control-Option-Command-N). Menu bars, the Dock, full-screen apps and every Space are covered.

  • Keep working underneath

On the Mac, clicks, scrolling and typing pass straight through the blur to the app below.

  • Follows your displays

Plug in, unplug or rearrange a screen and the blur follows. A screen connected while blurred is blurred at once.

  • Blur or solid cover

Dark glass at a fixed strength. Where the system cannot blur, it switches to a solid cover so nothing ever shows through.

  • No blink

The tint and the blur arrive in the same frame, so there is no flash of content as the screen blurs.

  • Private by design

Nothing is recorded or sent. The Mac app needs no permissions; the Android app has no internet permission.

FAQ

Questions, answered

Does Screen Veil record my screen?

No. It never records or saves anything, has no account and sends nothing anywhere. The Mac app needs no permissions at all, and the Android app has no internet permission.

Can I keep working while the screen is blurred?

On the Mac, yes: clicks, scrolling and typing go straight to the app underneath. On Android, touches stop at the blur in BASIC; tap anywhere on it, or press Back, to show the screen. Scrolling through the blur is an ADVANCED feature on Android.

Why is the Android blur sometimes a solid cover?

Real blur needs Android 12 or later on a phone that supports it. Where it is not available, such as Android 11 and older or battery saver, Screen Veil covers the screen with a solid dark colour instead, so nothing ever shows through.

On Android the permission switch is greyed out.

Android 15 and later block “Display over other apps” for apps installed from a file. Open App info, tap the menu (top right) and choose Allow restricted settings, confirm, and try again.

What is the Mac shortcut?

Control-Option-Command-N, fixed in BASIC. ADVANCED uses Control-Option-Command-B by default, so the two never fight over a key when both are running.

Is BASIC really free?

Yes. BASIC is free to download and use, with no time limit, no ads and no account. ADVANCED will be the paid edition when sales open.

Can BASIC and ADVANCED be installed together?

Yes. They are separate apps with their own settings, so installing, using or removing one never touches the other.

macOS says it cannot verify the installer. Is it safe?

Our installers are not signed with an Apple Developer ID yet, so macOS asks you to approve them once. Follow the step-by-step guide. You can also check the SHA-256 fingerprint shown next to the download.

When can I buy ADVANCED?

Not yet. We are completing our UAE business licence before we take payments. Join the waitlist and we will email you the day sales open.
