Place pictures that stay linked to their files, and update them in one click.
What it does
KPT Links brings linked images to PowerPoint for Mac, the way InDesign does it. Place a picture, edit the original in Photoshop or Illustrator, come back and update. The frame never moves or resizes.
BASIC gives you Place Linked, Update Selected and a Links panel that shows every linked image and its state. It is tiny, under 1 MB, and sends nothing anywhere.
PNG, JPG, GIF, BMP, TIFF, PSD, HEIC, WEBP, PDF, AI and SVG, into the shapes you selected or as a new frame.
A picture dropped into a shape keeps its size, position, rotation, crop shape (a circle stays a circle), outline and effects.
The new picture is drawn at the same scale as the old one with its top-left corner where the old one's was, so a new version lands exactly on the old.
Every linked image in the deck with its slide, file name and state: OK, modified or MISSING. Type a number and Go to jump to it.
A deck made with BASIC is a linked deck to ADVANCED, because both write the same four link tags.

FAQ
PNG, JPG, GIF, BMP, TIFF, PSD, HEIC, WEBP, PDF, AI and SVG. TIFF, PSD, HEIC and WEBP are flattened to a lossless PNG by macOS first. Photoshop files need Maximize Compatibility, and Illustrator files need Create PDF Compatible File.
The Links panel marks them MISSING. Finding moved files automatically, next to the deck or in a Links folder, is an ADVANCED feature.
Yes. BASIC writes the same four link tags as ADVANCED, so a deck made with BASIC is a linked deck to ADVANCED.
No. It makes no network connections and asks macOS for no permissions. It reads the files you link and writes only the link tags into the frames you place.
It installs the add-in into Office's system-wide Startup folder, which PowerPoint scans at launch. It never writes into PowerPoint's own container or registry.
Double-click Uninstall KPT Links Basic.command in /Library/Application Support/KPT/KPT Links Basic/. It removes only BASIC's files and leaves ADVANCED alone.
Quit PowerPoint completely (Cmd-Q) and open it again. The tab appears after View in the ribbon. If it is still missing, see the PowerPoint install guide or contact us.
